The most famous inhabitants of the Southern Ocean are the penguins, but whales and seals can also be observed. Come on a journey of discovery and get to know the southern end of the world!

2) 13.07.2021 at 16:00 . The Arctic – Kingdom of the Polar Bears

The northern polar region comprises the Arctic Ocean, which is covered with pack ice, and the northern parts of the continents of North America, Europe and Asia. Numerous animals, but also we humans, have adapted perfectly to a life in the cold. This is the home of the polar bear, the „King of the Arctic”. As a skilled prededator, he hunts seals on the pack ice. But the king’s kingdom is melting and climate change is to blame. How do polar bears live and why are they so endangered?

Your professor for the workshop will be Mrs. Barbara Post, Ph.D at the University of Innsbruck.

UniCo students that are interested in participating at the workshop are invited to an interview in English language. Please contact us at 0744388285 in order to schedule you for the interview, that can be held at our office or online.
